What you need to know about purpose...

3. It has to please God: Colossians 3:17

Our whole duty as Christians is to please God, so whatever it is you find doing, you ought to do it with that in mind. You cannot say something is God's purpose if it doesn't please God.

So, even if you're at a place in life where you still can't say specifically what your purpose on earth is, make sure that what you're doing is right in God's sight. We have the scriptures and the Holy Spirit on our inside to help us find out what pleases the Lord - Ephesians 5:10.

Pay more attention to obeying God at every point in time.

1. It is God's purpose: Proverbs 19:21

The first thing you need to know is that it is not "your" purpose. It is God's, and He simply wants to use us to accomplish His purpose. If you walk in this understanding, you'll save yourself a lot of worry and mistakes.

On Today's Episode of Purpose...

One thing we must know is that this topic is not to be taken lightly.

Ever felt abandoned?
Or maybe you currently feel all alone?
I can totally relate!
Maybe a little more than you can imagine.
The times you felt alone
The times you felt too far away that the Father can't reach you
The times you felt abandoned
I can totally relate!
The difference is that when you feel that way, that's all it is.
A feeling.
The Father is always close.
Always near.

But as for me, I lived it.
I experienced it.
It was real.

I and My Father are one.
But for the first time since before creation,
I was separated from Him.
He actually did turn His back on me.
Do you know why?
Because of you.
Because of your sin
I knew no sin, but I became sin because of you.
I became sin so that you can become the Righteousness of God
The Father, whose eyes are too holy to behold iniquity, could not look upon me
So, He turned away.
I cried out to Him out of my pain and despair.
I had never known this feeling.
I had never been separated from Him.
Not while I was in Egypt as a baby or while I walked the wilderness alone for 40 days.
He was always there.
He was always close.
But not this time.
He couldn't bear to look at me.

But you know what?
I'll do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Because I so so love you.
Because it grieves my heart when my children are lost.

But the GOODNEWS is, I don't have to go through it again
Because once was enough.
Enough for all eternity.
Enough for every generation of mankind
The separation and abandonment I suffered bought you eternal acceptance and made sure you are never separated from the Father.

For this, I rejoice, and I hope you rejoice, too.
Knowing that because I was abandoned briefly on the cross
You are accepted eternally.

You cannot follow Jesus on your own terms. His Word is ultimate. So, if you say He's your Master and Lord (owner), then you must submit and surrender 100%.

Free will?
You still have free will. You can choose to live by His standards or not. He never forces His will on you. But choosing to do what is contrary simply shows that you do not understand that all He does is from a place of love, and it's all for your good.

When you choose not to live by His standards, it simply means you're not a good representative of this kingdom. In this kingdom, we have a way of doing things, and our constitution does not change with time because it was perfect from the beginning.

Today and always, choose complete submission.

You cannot follow Jesus on your own terms. His Word is ultimate. So, if you say He's your Master and Lord (owner), then you must submit and surrender 100%.

IT'S EPIPHANY! 🌟

The Wise men from the East came to worship the baby Jesus. The star appeared to them and led them all the way to Bethlehem to see Jesus.

Their gifts, even though they knew it not, was a representation of who Jesus is.
There was an epiphany. A revelation of Jesus as King (Gold), Priest (Frankincense), and The Lamb to be slain (Myrrh).

During this season of celebrations, did you receive a revelation of who Jesus is?
Are you prepared to be a star, a shining light that will guide others to this same revelation this year?

EASTER is my favourite season in the church calendar for obvious reasons😃.

Reading Luke 24 today as part of the Christmas Challenge (Reading 1 chapter of Luke every day from December 1), I was so excited.
Going through the entire account of Jesus's life and ending on such a high note of His resurrection and ascension makes me so excited for Christmas.

I was just thinking of everything this morning, and I'm just so thankful that He came.

HE CAME! AND HE'S COMING BACK!🥳🎉
How exciting is that?!

EASTER is my favourite season in the church calendar for obvious reasons😃.

Reading Luke 24 today as part of the Christmas Challenge (Reading 1 chapter of Luke every day from December 1), I was so excited.
Going through the entire account of Jesus's life and ending on such a high note of His resurrection and ascension makes me so excited for Christmas.

I was just thinking of everything this morning, and I'm just so thankful that He came.

HE CAME! AND HE'S COMING BACK!🥳🎉
How exciting is that?!

In Luke 15, Jesus shared a powerful story we all know as the Parable of the Prodigal Son. That story is lesson-packed, and here is one new thing the Lord has shown me in that story.
It's about the prodigal son's brother.

When we read that story, we're often disappointed at his reaction to their father throwing a feast for his long-lost brother. I always wondered why, and here is what I learned recently.

He had the mindset of a slave.
That was the root of his jealousy.

"But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been SLAVING for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends."
Luke 15:29

A slave works and expects a reward/wage for his labour, but a son understands that he has an inheritance.

Watch how the father responded to him...

“ ‘MY SON,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. Luke 15:31

The father quickly shut down that narrative and corrected his identity.

You are a son. Stop living like a slave. The work you do for the Father should be born out of sonship and not slavery. You're not trying to earn the Father's approval. You already have it the moment you placed faith in Jesus.

Jesus said, "I must do the work of He who sent me." He did His work on earth as a Son to bring many other sons to glory. How could He have been jealous when the Father adopted us all and made us co-heirs with Him? After all His sufferings?
It was because His identity was never in question.

Today, I ask you, are you a son or a slave?

We played a game with the boys at the just concluded Youth Alyve Project 3.0.

I had them introduce themselves with an adjective that begins with the first letter of their names. For E.g, my name is Ozioma, so I'm Outstanding Ozioma. (Y'all will agree with me that I'm pretty outstanding, right?😉).

Anyway, as we went along, one of the boys introduced himself as "Dull." Sad, right?😔
First of all, his name didn't even begin with the letter D, so I was really worried that he described himself that way. I gave him some time to come up with something else, and he did.

Why am I sharing this?
As humans, we've always had people speaking over us and into our lives, both positively and negatively, and we gradually internalise those words.
A teacher, parent, or even a bully must have told this boy that he is dull and he has internalised it and made it his reality so much that even when that should never have come up, considering the rules of the game, it still brought up its ugly head.

I was getting ready to speak on mental health when we played that game, and my intention was to use it as an avenue to teach them to speak positive things over themselves.

People around you might have their opinions about you; you might even have an opinion about you based on your reality, but what matters is what God says about you. He calls you CHILD. Blessed. Forgiven. Fearfully and wonderfully made. Redeemed.

Gideon was busy talking about how he's weak, afraid, the least in his clan and all that yadayada, but God looked at him and called him "mighty man", then went ahead to say "go in this thy might". (Judges 6).

Your assignment today is to open the scriptures and find out who God has called you and take possession of that identity.

Anyway, as we went along, one of the boys introduced himself as "Dull." Sad, right?😔
First of all, his name didn't even begin with the letter D, so I was really worried that he described himself that way. I gave him some time to come up with something else, and he did.

Why am I sharing this?
As humans, we've always had people speaking over us and into our lives, both positively and negatively, and we gradually internalise those words.
A teacher, parent, or even a bully must have told this boy that he is dull and he has internalised it and made it his reality so much that even when that should never have come up, considering the rules of the game, it still brought up its ugly head.

I was getting ready to speak on mental health when we played that game, and my intention was to use it as an avenue to teach them to speak positive things over themselves.

People around you might have their opinions about you; you might even have an opinion about you based on your reality, but what matters is what God says about you. He calls you CHILD. Blessed. Forgiven. Fearfully and wonderfully made. Redeemed.

Gideon was busy talking about how he's weak, afraid, the least in his clan and all that yadayada, but God looked at him and called him "mighty man", then went ahead to say "go in this thy might". (Judges 6).

Your assignment today is to open the scriptures and find out who God has called you and take possession of that identity.
